Last evening there was a regular
meeting of the liars club, and as the
election of officers was on the program
there was a scramble for reserved seats,

quantities of hay would be made and
big snakes would be captured and he
hoped the liars present would meet
their duty with the same calm and un
selfish devotion and marked ability
that had characterized their former
deliberations and made the club such
a blooming success and he now trusted
they would name candidates with a
strict regard to their past services to
the club and their proficiency in the
art of missing the truth, who could be
depended onto maintain their reputa

came to his feet and cleverly dodging
a shower of apple cores, remarked, that
while ho was in favor of rewarding
true merit, he thought the president's
plan was a scheme to give all the offi

LaOrippe Successfully Treated:
"I just have recovered from the
second attack of la grippe this year,"
says Mr. Jas. A. Jones, publisher of
tho Mexia, Texas. "In the
latter case I used Chamberlain's Cough
Remedy, and I think with considerable
success, only being in bed a little over
two days against ten days for the
former attack. The second attack I
am satisfied would have been equally
as bad as the first but tor the use of
this remedy, as I had togo to bed in
about six "hours alter being 'struck'
with it, while in the first case I was
able to attend to business about two
days before getting 'down.' " For
