The Misses Scudder, of Williamsport, are enjoying a week's visit with friends at this place. Mrs. W. H. Metzger has returned from a two week's visit to Williams port, and Howard is himself again. G. H. Wykoff has resigned his posi tion as engineer on the Grove Run R. R. and is succeeded by Harry Fulton. The Epworth League convention will be held on the old camp ground and continue for two days, beginning on the 24th, inst. The pastor as well as all others connnected with this branch of the work are making zealous efforts to make this session a highly successful one. Our school board have not yet elect ed a principal for the graded school. There seems to be a deadlock and a majority cannot be had for either can didate. The teachers for the other schools are Miss Jennie Robinson for primary grade; Miss Eva Brooks, for Wyside and Miss Mina Shores for G rove. J. A. Hunter, of Norway, Maine, was here last week placing a patent device on the log ears of the Wykoff Run R. R.. which greatly facilitates the loading and unloading of logs. The new arrangement gives entire satisfaction and the trainmen are de lighted with it. "ANGUS." Mason Hill Letter. Cool nights and warm days again. Mr. Charley Barr is confined to the house with quinsy. Isiah Dent, of Dents Run, had busi ness here on Saturday. Mrs. J. B. Pauley, of Medix Run, visited friends here last week. Mr. T. J. Geary returned to his home Friday last on account of illness. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Walker visited friends at Sinnemahoning over Sun day. Mrs. Thomas Connor, of Huston Ilill, was the guest of her son Chas. on Friday. Mrs. Martha Miller and Mrs. J. B. Pauley visited Mrs. L. B. Russell on Sunday. Huntley Miller and Harry Williams made a business trip to Mix Run on Monday. Our singing school is progressing grandly under the management of Miss Ethel Barr. Something we would like to know - what has become of the Sterling Run correspondent ? Miss Gertie Hill, of Grove Hill, was the guest of Miss Stella Logue the fore part of the week. Mrs. O. B. Tanner and Mrs. C. W. Williams contemplates going to Lock Haven in the near future. Mrs. C. E. Barr who has been con fined to her bed for two weeks, we are glad to say, is able to be up again. Our people are making great prepara tions for the Sabbath school conven tion which is to be held the 12th and 13th inst. Miss Lizzie Jordan has returned from Dents Run, where she has been spending a few weeks with her sister Mrs. Losey. Miss Maud Williams and Miss Stella Logue are talking of attending the Epworth League Convention at Sinne mahoning'the 24th of this month. Mrs. Ruth Smith, celebrated her 54th anniversary last Wednesday at Huntley. Quite a number of our old folks from this place attended, regard less of the rain. PEGGY. Rich Valley Notes. Waddington, of Emporium came up Saturday night and spent Sunday with S. D. Housler. Mrs. Woodcock was turning the horse around last Friday when the buggy upset.
