    ADDRESS OF THE DEMOORATIC STATE
CENTRAL COMMITTEE
Ti the Pe'ople of Pennsylvania:
Before again addressing you on the political issues

C. gra! Committee have prefered to wait until the result
of the Octolier election could be ascertained definitely.-

Lad they fattened in prospective on this ilepartmebt of

spirit is HOW happily ft ustrated, and our canals and rail
roads are presertd from serving as instruments to wreak
revenge of proud and embittered partizanship.
As compared with October, 1814, we have gained a
member of Congress in the V Iffi district, (Bucks and
Lehigh) by 5 - 3 t) majority. We have gainc , l another in
the NVlth district, (6,timberhtnd, Franklin and -Perry,)

Beaver) has been decided against us by barely 58 votes,
and the XVllth dist: hi, (Li untingddn, Blair, eke.) by
or abort 60 voles. We have no doubt that the official
results will establish, that on the Congressional rote the
Democrats hare A VERY DECIDED MAJOIIII V.
The State Senate contains for the tinio being in the

by the loss of eight members in Philadelphia county, by
rraso'n of the Amalgamation—two in Imir rue; ono in
Cambria, one in Cutyborland, and one in Washington,
through local divisions—and the limber loss of two in
