receive the whole or any part of the contract, ex
cording to the above scale, the departmeht reserl , -
ing to itself the right to determine whether the
biddei is competent and respon•ible or not.
A schedule of the articles. with samples, may
be seen at the office of the Commissioner of Ind inn
Affairs, in 'tYasliington, exhibiting the amount of
money, to be xpentled Ibr each article; but the de
pertinent res I ves the right to increase urdinfin
ish the quant ty of any tt . the articles named, or
substiute others in lieu therefore, or to require, at
similar pricei, such goods as may he wanted for
presents or other purposes, in the administration
