Tiger is as inquisitive as a monkey,
f a box comes to the house he is the
Irst to want the cover removed. He
jsts into bureau drawers, inspects
he contents of visitors' suit cases If
Ji lids are left unfastened, and last
Christmastime, when a tree, hung with
iraents, was placed in one of the
-ooms. Tiger, after looking it carefully
jar and perhaps wondering why he
aadn't noticed it before, climed up to
in easy perch among the branches and
proceeded to eat the festoons of
popped corn.
When there is no one disposed to
day ball with Tiger he calls the game
tlmself, and at once becomes the
whole team. He throws the ball into
h air, bats It about with his paws,
-una to the top of the stairs for a
brow-down, and after winning a hot,
lard game , curls himself up In a
mnchbowl for a snooze.
When callers come he usually takes
conspicuous station from which to
ook them over. Some he will select
a friends and show them that in his
Bttmation they are all right by loo!:
ng them wide-eyed In the face, arch
ng his pretty back, and smoothing his
ides on their clothing. Those who do

Call's Catarrh Cure i3 not a quack
ledicine. It was prescribed by
e of the best physicians in this

Wind-Gags for Trains.
A singular device for the protec
tlon of railway-trains crossing a via
duct exposed to heavy winds has re
cently been emrloyed at Ulversto'i
England, says Prof. R. De C. Ward In
Science. It cons Ms of a wind-gage
fixed at the west end of the Levcn.
viaduct When the wind-pressure
pressure reaches 32 pounds to the
square foot, an eleotric contact 1
made automatically, and bells ring in
the signal cabins on each side of the
viaduct. Upon this, all trains are de
talned until the force of the wind
abates. The interruption is tel?
graphed aiong the line, In February.
i907, a wind 7eloc:ty of 65 miles an
hour was recorded. The Janger 01
very high winds to trains on an ex
posed bridge or vlpduct was tragically
illustrated many years ago by the la
mentable Tay Bridge disaster in Scot
land.

People Tellfach Other About Good Thing,
Fourteen years ago few people in the
world knew of such a preparation as a
Powder for the feet. To-day after the
genuine merit of Allen's Foot-Ease is
told year after year by one gratified per
son to another, there are millions who
would as soon go without a dentifrice as
without Allen's Foot-Ease. It is a
cleanly, wholesome, healing, antiseptic
powder to be shaken into the shoes,
which has given rest and comfort to
tired and aching feet in all parts of the
world. It cures while you walk. Over
30,000 testimonials of cures of smarting,
swollen, perspiring feet. It prevents
friction and wear of stockings and will
6ave in your stocking bill ten times its
cost each year. Imitations pay the deal
er a larger profit, otherwise you would
never be offered a substitute when you
ask for Allen's Foot-Ease, the original
powder for the feet. Imitations are not
advertised because they are not perma
nent. For every genuiue article there are
many imitations. The imitator has no
reputation to sustain the advertiser
has. It stands to reason that the adver
tised article is the best, otherwise the
public wonld not buy it and the adver
tising could not be continued. When
you ask for an article advertised in this
paper, see that you get it. Refuse imi
tations, it.
