The danger to health from a bad

said: "If I am called in a case of
dyptheria, the first thing I look at
is the kitchen sink. The waste
pipe of a sink ought to have boiling
water and ammonia o r washing
soda poured down it frequently and
at least once a week a disinfectant
such as chloride of lime should be

Will Move Burial Ground.
The old burial grounds on Center
street, where lor years ruin and
desolation have held full sway, is
soon to be changed. The congre
gation of the Lutheran church at a
meeting held last evening, decided
to petition the Court for leave to
remove the dead bodies.
Hundreds of bodies are interred
in the old cemetery and their re
moval will entail the expenditure
of much time and labor. Time has
long since destroyed all means ot
identification of many of the graves,
in numerous instances there is not
as much as a flag stone remaining.
1 he Lutheran and Reformed con
gregatious are joint owners of the
ground, they having come into
possession ot it years ago when
they worshipped together in
frame church which at that time
stood on the cemetery lot facing
First street. The deed for the
ground was recorded while Colum
bia was yet a part of Northumber
land County, and it is uow at Suu
bury, where N. U. Funk Esq.,
representing the Reformed con
gregation went to look it up.
William Chrisnnn Esq., repre
sents the Lutheran congregation
The petition will probably be pre
sented at the March session of
Argument Court.
