Mrs. Electa Stephens.aged thirty
nine years died at her home in Ber
wick Sunday evening. The fune
ral occurred on Tuesday. Mrs.
John Earhart of Bloomsburg is a
sister of the deceased.
Prof. Joseph H. Dennis departed
yesterday for Philadelphia, New
York, Boston and Old Orc'lard,
Maine. The object of the trip is to
secure advertising for the Centen
nial program. '

Sweet corn of this season's growth

expected the amount was limited,
and the entire supply quickly ex
hausted.
Camp "Recreation" has been
opened near Orangeville by Ray
Moyer, George Alexander, Isadore
Cohen, Harry Richie, Jee Cohen,
Alex Alexander aud "Budd" Rabb.
The boys are enjoying themselves
immensely.
J. M. Kline, proprietor of the
Central Hotel spent two days last
week up at the headwaters of Fish
iugcreek, fishing. His wife was
with him. They came home Fri
day afternoon with about twenty
five pounds of trout.
Phenus Deily very much improv
ed the appearance of the old Presby
terian church lot on Tuesday by
cutting the grass in front. It was
done by direction of the Civic Club
who are getting the building iu
shape for the Historical Museum.

Rev. D. N. Kirkby leaves this
week for his summer vacation of
four weeks, and there will be no
services in St. Paul's church ex
cept on Sunday mornings at 10:30.
Mr. Kirkby will visit his parents at
Rye, N. Y. and spend part of the
time at other points. During his
absence Mrs. Kirkby will entertain
her mother, Mrs. Kent, of Brooklyn.
