Mrs. John Morris of Leonard street was painfully scalded on Monday by the sudden outpouring of a kettle of boiling water. The heated liquid splashed over her entire right side. Her arm was burned more than any part of her person. Mr. Barley, President of the Harrisburg Trust Co. attended a full meeting of the Board of Di rectors of the Magee Carpet Co. last week. Mr. Barley is one of the Board's members and was well pleased with the progress made at the works since the ku meeting. The congregation of St. Colum ba's Catholic Church were quite successful with their festival held on the church lawn Friday and Saturday evenings, and a nice sum was realized. The children of the Sunday School in connection with the choir rendered a beautiful ser vice. The author ities of said Town shall at all times by them selves, their servants, workmen, agents or em ployes have the right to make such repairs and Improvements to the culverts, drains, sewers and water pipes running under, Along or near tio sarface ot the said railway tracks, and to lay and maintain such additional culvert drains, sewer and water pipes as they may deem proper ; causing as little obstruction to the run ning ot cars as possible. And whenever It shall be necessary for the said purpose to remove tba tracks of the said company, the same shall, upon reasonable notice, be removed and relald by tho said company. And lu 1. 11 cases wherever It shull be deemed nocessary by the Town Council for the purpose of carrying surfaco water, th said company shall construct drains or culverts to carry off the same as may be directed by tk President of the Town Council. The company to extend at Its own cost and expense all cul verts or crossings where the same Is necessary to accommodate the public and Rullroud com pany. Section 10. Use ot vehicles on tracks. All persons may drive with wagons, carriages or other vehicles on the tracks ot said company without becoming trespassers, provided, bo ever, they do not retard or In any manner In terfere with tho operation of said railway. Section 16. company to Indemnify tor dam ages. The said street railway company shall Indemnify and hold harmless the said To.va la all suits or actions ot law which may arise la the construction, maintenance and operation or said railway, provided that the railway com pany be permitted to defend in the name ot tba Town In any suit or action. Section 17. If In any case the said railway company shall neglect or refuse when required by the municipal authorities to repulr, pave or repave the Btreet or streets or any road be tween Its tracks, as hereinbefore required, or ts do any other thing required by the pretloi's provisions of this Ordinance, or to take up and relay Us trucks, as hereinbefore provided, or to da any other act, matter or thing by this Ordi nance provided, then and lu such case the said Town shall proceed to do the same, and shal1 collect and recovor tho expense und costs there of from said railway company. Section 18. No tax on cars for ten years. That there shall bo no tax placed on any of tl cars, polos or other upparatus of said company for the space of ton years from the acceptance of this Ordinance by suld company. Section 19. Excavations to be covered wtthla tun days. That lu the construction of said rail way no excavation ou any ot the street n or roads shall be allowed to remain open at aoj one point for a perloa longer than ten days, bus that inside ot the suld ten days the said exoa vutlon shull be fully covered bo as to allow frea passage over and across the sumo. Section). Company to pay expenses of Or dinance. That said railway company shall pay all costs and expenses Incident to the drawing; printing, posting aud publishing of this Ordi nance, as well as tor services ot the Town engin eer rendered nocessary hereby aud the sum ot One Dollar aud Seventy-nve cents (,$1.75) per day for every day's service necessarily rendered by tho Inspector, who shall be appointed by tba Town Couuoll to oversee the work performed und'jrthlBOidlnanee, aud that suld Ordluanc shull not go Into effect until the proper oltlcem of said company shall have certliled to this Council thulr acceptance of tho same as pro vided herein.
