Street. Will ''Curfew" Strike Here? The "Curfew bell"' is becoming all the rage. Many towns in the state are taking up the question and want an ordinance passed compelling all young people to be off the streets at a certain hour. Philipsburg residents are now advocating the adoption of the ancient edict. The residence of Mrs. Clarissa Peacock at the corner of Fifth and Centre streets has been improved by the removal of the fence and repairs. Jonathan Pursel, who some time since purchased the Brobst peach orchard on what is known as Correll's hill has recently erected a new house on the same. Next Sabbath is Rev. P. A. Her man's last Sunday in Bloomsburg. He preaches his farewell sermon on Sunday evening and will remove to Philadelphia on Thursday of next week. C. B. Ent has no opposition for the nomination for Register and Recorder, and is not likely to have. This is as it should be. He has made a good official, and is entitled to his second term. William Chrisman Esq., whose nama was announced last week for Representative, will probably have a clear field, as up to this time no one else seems inclined to run for that office on the north side. He has faithfully served the party as county chairman for several years and is fairly entitled to this reward for his labor. Notice. The school building at Phillipsburg is too small and the board took a vote to build an addition, but it resilted in a tie and the school building will not be built. The Ledger says the town can pay $700 for the "Princess Bon nie" company and keep a show in town a whole week, but it can"t build an addition to the school house be cause it will cost money. A Large Reservoir to be Built- The Stephen Girard estate is now making arrangements for the erection of a new dam on the lands of the estate. The embankment at the breast is to be 1,500 feet long, to cover an area of 63 acres and it will contain 190,000,000 gallons of water. The cost will not be less than If 1 10,000.
