C. Walter of Wilkcs-barre, a member of
the firm of Jones and Walter was in this

Miss Elsie West, of Weatherly was a
pleasant guest at the home of Mrs. Fred
Jlolmes over Sunday.
Charles Fornwald is confined to his house
by sickness. His freight business is bciiij
attended to by John Jones.
David Mauser one of the substantial citi
jrens of Montour township transacted busi
ness at this oflice Tuesday morning.
Mrs. J. W. Eyer, Mrs. T. J. Vanderslice,

ed a party who spent last Friday at Wilkes
Jiarrc. William Rabb who is residing in Phila
delphia, is visiting his daughter Mrs. George
I. Kingler. Ho is pleased with his city

A little daughter has arrived to
brighten the home of Louis Gross.

taxes of Greenwood Twp. after De

The " Police Inspector " which was
to have held forth in the Opera House
Thursday night cancelled their date.
Mrs. Samuel Troutman a highly
respected lady of Centralia died at
her home last Friday evening of pneu
monia. The First National Bank of this
place is supplying its patrons with a
fine calendar. It is artistically en
graved, and makes a nice present.
We have received from the
Rochester Business University of
Rochester, N. Y., a pocket map ot
Pennsylvania. I heir cataiogne ana
circulars show this school to be in a
flourishing institution.

Water Company a new trial was grant
ed and the case certified to Luzerne
county for trial.

Joseph Sharpless was eighty-seven
years old on last Friday. He is one
of the best preserved men in the
Town. His friends hope that he may
be spared to witness several more
birthdays.
Sheriff McIIenry has been un
fortunate lately with his horses having
lost lwo within the last few months.
The last one died last Friday. He
was apparently in good health and
after returning from a trip to Benton
suddenly died.
T. W. Mears and family will move
to Brooklyn N. Y. next Monday. He
has sold the Bloomsburg Bicycle
Works to J. F. Wright of Benton, who
will move to Bloomsburg and take
personal charge. Mr. Mears will
engage in the bicycle repair business
in Brooklyn.
