Ringrose against the Town of Bloomsburg, is on trial in court this week. The plaintiff seeks damages' lor injuries received by a fall on a defective side-walk on Third street in front of J. B. Robison's resi dence. Messrs. Scarlet and Little are counsel for Ringrose, and Messrs. Ikeler, Robison and Rhawn for the defendant. The case is being hotly contested, and is attended with much interest. Court adjourned over Wed nesday. Railroad Gazette, May 26, 1894: "On Pennsylvania road, near Down ington, Pa., an east bound freight tram was derailed by a fallen brake beam and several cars fell over upon the west bound track, where they were struck by a west bound train, and 19 cars altogether were wrecked. A man stealing a ride on one of the trains was killed and another injured. A brakeman was also injured." The use of the patent brake made by the Beamless BraKe Company, of Bloomsburg, would prevent the possi bility of such accidents. The many friends of John P. Han non of Conyngham township, will be pained to learn that he is stricken with disease and unable to attend to his public duties. He has been confined to the house for many months, and his trouble has been pronounced Bright's Disease. Mr. Ilannon is one of the best citizens ot the lower end. and a speedy recovery is wished him by all his acquaintances. Since writing the above, the sad news comes of Mr. Hannon's death. He expired on Sunday afiernoon while his wife was reading to him, and she hardly knew when the vital spark went out. The funeral took place on Thursday, at Centralia. Gidding & Co. for clothing.
