POWDESLY POWDERED.
It seems that I'owderly, the cele
brated labor-movement agitator, findi
it necessary to retract all his anti
trades union remarks and directions.
The outcome of the recent labor con
ference in Philadelphia is interpreted
as an effort to arrange for the swallow
ing up of the Knights of Labor as
digestible food for the organization
bearing title of Federation of Labor.
Referring to the last conference the
J'jiilaleliii Times speaks of it as
" Mr. I'owderly's latest fiasco," and
calls it an inglorious fizzle, in which
the claws of the I'owderly tiger were
neatly clipped.
