The Cast for the Drummer Boy are
doing well and the outlook is bright
for success. the whole Cast from
Milton are comirg over to see the
Drummer Boy played in ihe opera
house. About 50 people in all arc
coming.
The eighteenth annual meeting of
the Women's Foreign Missionary So,
ciety, of Northumberland Presbytery
was held in the Presbyterian Church
on Wednesday and Thursday. We
hope to secure a report of the pro
ceedings for next issue.
The lime wagon still patrols the
streets occasionally, and those wh
are fortunate enough to know that the
lime is for free distribution, can obtain
a basketful. There ought to be some
sign on the wagon, indicating that th
lime is for public use.
Quite a number of people from this
section spent last Sunday in Harris-
burg, and attended the M. E. Confer
ence. Among them were Prof. G. E,
Wilbur, F. B. Hartman, S.,C. Creasy
Myron I. Low, L. f. Sharpless, Joh
Wagonseller, Mrs. M. E. Creasy.
Joseph R. Robbins, father of Geo
S. Robbins and Mrs. Clark Brown, of
this town, and William Robbins, of
Lightstreet. died at his home, in Light
street, last Sunday morning. He had
been ill for some time, and was ad
vanced in years. The funeral took
place on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Harry Aurand, of. this town,
and Miss Laura Seybert, of Light
street, were married last week, Thurs
day, at the bride's home. She is a
daughter of Morris Seybert. They
went on a wedding trip. On their re
turn, last Monday, the Bloomsburg
Land tendered thein a serenade.
W. II. Gilmore's building will be
one of the most imposing structures
in town when completed. W. O,
Holmes is putting up a handsome
galvanized iron cornice. The entire
ftont of the building will be covered
with steel sheeting imitating stone
work. It is a great addition to that
part of Main street.

Danville, and no risks ought to be
taken by going there, or by encour

J. G. Wells moved from Mrs,
Smiths house, on Third street, on
Tuesday, to his own handsome new
residence, on fifth street. The house
is a modern structure, and is painted
in colonial yellow, with white trim
mings outside. 1 he interior is very
conveniently arranged. The front
hall and stairway are finished in hard
wood, the parlor is painted in white
and gold, the dining room and library
in oak, and the kitchen in natural
wood. B. W. Jury had the contract
for the building, and he has carried it
out in a manner very satisfactory to
all concerned. Peter K. Vannatta
did the painting.

Bloomsburg is to have the annual
convention of the Columbia county
Sunday bchool Association, this year
and it is to be a grand one. The date
is May 24 and 2s. The sessions will
be held in the court house.
Miss Lillie Doak has been in Phila
delphia this week to get the latest
styles in ladies dresses, and is prepar
ed to make tbejn up in first class style,

Market, are nearly completed. The
painters are at work on the interior of
the first one, and will complete it in
about ten days. P. K. Vannatta has
the contract for the painting.

mill for several years, and thoroughly
