" The Dazzler" will be played in the
0(.era House this week, Friday even
ing. It is said to be a good show.
Here is what some of the papers say:
The Dazzler, as presented by Cos
grove and Grant's comedians, is a very
agreeable entertainment, and the com
pany contains the usual number of
pretty young women, who make them
selves variously useful. Altogether it
is the best Dazzler company that has
appeared here. Springfield (Mass. )
Republican.
The Worcester (Mass.) Telegram
say: The Dazzler given by Cos
grove and Grant's company of come
dians, filled the theatre last night.
The Dazzler is eminently funny, and
it had an appreciative audience last
evening. Everything was applausible,
and everybody applauded.

Blarney Stone a Fraud.

THE WORLD'S FaIR.
AT
Collector of Customs Clark, at the
port of Chicago, has made a most in
teresting report to the Treasury De
partment on a chapter which concerns
matters at the Midway Plaisance of
the World's Fair.
At the opening of the Irish Villace
there was one essential thins lackina
to make the "Blarney Castle" a coun
terpart of the original structure in
Ireland, and that was the "Blarney
stone." The manager, desirous of en
dowing the visitors with an onDortu-
nity for becoming famous spouters.
took into his confidence James Riley,
a contractor, and requested that he
produce a "Blarney stone." Mr.
Riley secured the services of Charles
1 hompson, an employe of the villaae.
and these two men on a dark night in
June repaired to the corner of Fifty-
seventh street and Portland avenue,
in the city of Chicago, and there dug
up from the street a limestone paving
block, about 18 inches long and Sxio
inches in dimensions. They carried
it to the village and placed it in a case
which had been received that day in
bond, case No. 07, serial 4000, ad
dressed to Thomas Baker, Irish In
dustrial Village.
This stone was then placed in the
walls of the castle, where it remained
during the balance of the Fair, and
was kissed by at least 25,000 people,
a fee of 10 cents apiece being charged.
