Steel Barrels.
The manufacture has been com
menced, at Barrow, of steel barrels for
tho currlnge of petroleum In the place
of wooden casks. Tho barrels are
made in halvos by means of dies and
compression while the thin plates of
steel are hot. These halves are welded
together by means of electricity, and
tho barrels, when produced, are to be
used in the petroloum trade in hot cli
