Delegates to the Republican county
convention gathered in town last Mon
day, and at 2 o'clock p. m. the conven
tion was called to order by the county
chairman, C. E. Geyer.
J. R. Dccmer, of Catawissa, was
named for chairman but declined,
when R. E. Bowman, of Berwick, was
elected without opposition.
W. D. Becklcy was chosen sccretaiy
and C. W. S. 1'ox, assistant.

National Republican Convention at
Minneapolis.

a committee of five be appointed by
the chair to frame a system of rules to
govern their primal ies and report at
the next county convention. J. C.

Catawissa, and John M. Buckalew of
Fishing creek, were named as the com
