Philadelphia, Feb. 20 Frionds of Senator Quay in this city have re cently received letters from St Lucie, Fla., where the senator is staying, in forming them that his health has not improved there. It is said that he is threatened with pneumonia. The senator's son, Richard R. Quay, recently wrote that his father's con dition did not improve as fast as they had hoped, and yesterday a friend In this city received a letter from the senator himself relating to business matters, in the course of which he said that he was a sicker man than he had supposed. This, coupled with the news from Washington that Mrs. Quay had started for St Lucie, Fla., to bo with her husband, caused uneasiness among the senator's friends. Minnesota for Cleveland. After an exciting session of the Democratlo State Committee to-day the Cleveland wing scored a victory and named March 31 as the date of the convention to send delegates to Chicago.
