At Augusta, Ga. ten distinct shocks were felt between 9:51 and 10 45 p. m. At Savannah five shocks, and at Memphis, Itlchmond and Washington It was so severe that the pcoplo becamo panic-stricken, Charleston, S. C. suffered tbo most. A bridgo leading to tho city was shaken from its foundation, carrying along all telegraph lines, and shutting out tho city from all outsido communication.
