Saturday, for safe keeping. Ho was in-
sane and violent. On Monday a com

upon their return Knhlcr was committed
to the Danville Asylum. Sheriff Ent took
him down on Tuesday.

Another attempt nt robbery was made at
tho store of Moses McIIcnry, Stillwater, on
Monday evening. One of thelclcrks sleeps
in the Btorc. The thieves effected an en
trance at the window, nnd wcro in tho act
of drilling into the snfc, having already
made three holes about on inch deep, when
the clerk was awakened. The robbers bc-
camo frightened and wliilo escaping
through the window, tho clerk discharged
his gun, the bnll nnd shot entered tho
window casing nnd plastering. One of tho
robbers cried "I'm shot 1" but no trace of
blood was found. Asa Hess living near
Stillwater was arrested and brought to jail
on Tuesday evening. Tho clerk testified
beforo a justice of tho peace that lie wns
one of tho guilty parties.
All tho members of tho senior class nt
the Normal school passed their examina
tion last week. The class numbers thirty,
four.
It Is thouglitnow that tho fruit crop this
year will bo greater than it was even in
1880, which was greater than known for
many years.
Tho First National Bank of Marietta
recently closed business, and organized a
new bank and commenced business again

the credit of being foremost in bringing

81st. This Association, which for tho past
few years has been struggling for existence,

nnd the placo of meeting was tilled at each
session and sometimes crowded with thoso

toward every one, Is of itself no slight
stimulus to well-doing.
