of tho J'rcss had referred to our town as
a "mountain-locked village shut oil"

seits that tho Democrats of tho County

It might bo well for bomo other enter

tlio trees. Somo seiious accidents aro
reported principally caused by runaway

with which theso hnil stones fell may
be formed from tho fact that a gentle
man who was struck on tho back of

Keep Your. Family PAi'Eit. Tlio
lust that should bo given up. iu a well
organized family, is thu regular, week
ly, local paper. Times may bo hard
and money scarce, but in tho midst of
the greatest financial distress, the most
dllllcult thing to dispense with is thu
family newspaper. Thero are few per
sons who will do it under any circum
stances, und tho wisdom of their decis
ion is manifest. The newspaper is a
man at the lookout. It keeps tho farm

country; of everything that pertains to
the farming and business interests, and

It is valuablo on account of tho infor
mation il brings regularly to our doors
and which if fought after elsewhere
could not bo obtained for ten timrs the
amount of a year's subscription. .None
but tho hopelessly ignorant, will stop
their newspaper on account of tho hard
times. When they do so they throw
nway und rule out of their family tho
only thing which may s.ivo them in
an extremity. The newspaper costs a
very small sum, and yet veryorten by
containing a piece of information valu
ablo to farmers and business men, may
save him thousands of dollars. If econ

it would bo like lopping oil' tlio

but is, nt the samo time, an educator in
