Dikdoi-'a Fnvi.vo Pan "Died of
a frying pan" is the epitaph which n
celebrated physician says appropriately
belongs to tlio graveyard of thousands
of our American peoplu on account of
the manner or preparing their food.
Tlio doctor says of tho majority of
Americans: '1 heir standard food is a
pii ci' of bacon fried, tlio fat taken nud
with flour or men! mixed into a heavy
inii'-s and consigned to tlio inevitable
frying pan, nnd out comes n lump of
leainery.iooKing something wlueli the
stomach of an ostrich could not digest,
Give them a chicken and what do they
do witli it' Cut it up, and into tlio
frying pan it goes; niter being slowly
simmered until hard it Is put into n
dish nnd grenso poured over it, and
what is not soaked up in tlio chicken
is mado way with in soaking their fry
ingpau bread in It. Givo them a rich,
Juicy steak, and Into tlio fryingpan it
goes, and Is slowly bimmeied and sim
mered until no knife will cut it, nud
then ealen with heavy bread senked Iu
the remaining fat nnd thus good wliolo
homo food, In quantity sufficient to fur
nish a wholesome meal for a whole
family Is, by Iho frylngpim process,
lcndered not only barely enough for
ono mnn, but converted into a slow
poison nnd a fruitful f-ourco of disease.
Scarcely n day passes but somo poor
sufferer njiplles lo 1110 for relief from the
"fiylngpnn disease," which 1 nm u i

change Is effected, whoso appropriate
epitaph will be.
"Died of u fryingpan."
