ly finds its way to tho outside or lamps
does not How through the bowl, hut is
caused by an ovcrllow of the oil which
ascends tho wick by capillary attiac-
tion. A turgor amount pa-so up than
Is eon-umeil, and a portion trickle-
over nn to the lamp; it not in u-u tho
oil Is Inclined to a-cend the wick ; and
if the tube and cap permit, it Hows over.
A good way to prevent this when the
lamp Is not In use, is to keep the wick
turned down below the lop of the tube,
as fartts tho wheel which keep the wick
in place will admit,
