A State Agricultural Convention, called by
the State Agricultural Society, met in the
Hall ol the House of lU| resenta'tves on

Professor T. C. Porter; recommending the
State and couuly Agricultural Societies to

State Agricultural College to favorable con
•idcraiiou: recognizing Dr. Thoma3 H. Bur
rowes, principal of ike College, as the "right

the payment of the expenses of ground trial
of farming implements and other experi
ments, a law authorizing the gathering of Ag
ricultural statistics, and a general amendment
to the road law of the State; also protesting

The Senate has passed by it large majority

has been before the Legislature for yean, and
has usually passed one Bouse, but failed for
