has yet received authority to receive subscriptions
on account of the national ten-forty loan of two
hundred miliions. Letters arc in preparation,
however, and will be immediately forwarded to all
the National Banking Associations which have
been qualified and designated as depositories and
financial agents, authorizing them to act as agents,
in receiving subscriptions for the ten-forty loan.
The compensation allowed is one-fourth of one
per cent, out of which the cost of advertising
and" all other expenses of obtaining subscriptions
