of the lungs, have heretofore resisted all treatment
'lias lievn because they had never been approached
in a direct manner by medicine. They were iit end
ed to art upon the lungs and vet were applied to
the stomach. Their action was intended to be lo
cal, ami yet they were so administered that they
should act constitutionally, txeriding immediate

whilst the foul ulcers within th: lungs were unmo
lested. Inhalation brings the medicine in direct
contact with the disease, without the disadvantage
