liouis NAPOLEON A B<MJUS.—A writer in
Graham's Magazine for January has come for
ward with some important revolutions, convict
ing the occupant of the French Imperial throne
of tlie basest imposture.
He says that the real Louis Napoleon died
io a fir, in k drinking hou.'e in New York,
some years ago, atiJ that a Yankee named Bo
wen, who had long ten his companion in dis
sipation and revelrv, assumed Ids name, sailed
iuuiicdiati'ly for Europe, attended Queen llr
--teiisc as her son in her dying tubmen's, imposed i
himself upon the French people as a genuine
Bonaparte, and succeeded in reaching the Im
pel ial throne.
The story is well told, and the objections ]
that would naturally be suggested are skilfully j
disposedwvf. Whether it will c-xcite so much
attention as the pretended discovery of the *o |
of Louis XYL, in the person of a Mr. Wil
liams, a few years ngo, remains to be seen.
