other large and enthusiastic meeting was
held in Boalsbutg. on Saint day last.—
S. H. Stover was chosen Chairman-, S.
Glasgow, and others, Vice Presidents,
with Dr. C. P. W. Fisher as Secretary.
Speeches were made by• Messrs. A. Boyd.
Hutchison, cf the REPUBLICAN, Foetney
and Blanchard. It was arranged to raise
5 per cent. of the value of real estate in
Harris tp.. as stock. This will amount
to about $70,000. The meeting washar
monious, and the utmost interest was
expressed en all sides in the comple
tion of the road.

there will be four different tickets voted.
One will be bedded "Judiciary" for
Judge of the Supreme Court; one headed
'•State" for Governor. one headed "Coun
ty" for Senator, Representative_and the
county ticket, and one headed "Town
ship" or "Borough ' for the township or
borough tickets. Our friends in the va
rious townships will find the whole very
much simplified by haiiing their town

CENTRE HALL, Sept. 27, '69
Local affairs are decidedly under the
weather. The items, "fenny and foul,"
or "better as good," fly high. with little
disposition to alight within hailing dis
tance. The cruel loss sustained by our
worthy Judge, is really the only prime
article fermenting in our midst, and even
that is now non est. The loss is truly a
party calamity. Kurtz, on his return
from Bellefonte, last Saturday, conven
ed a Mf eting at his office, and the result
of his trip was made known. Perhaps it
would be advisable to let the report of
the gathering slip, for the present.
Fred has already divided up the $lO

stray, weak Democratic voter. The *this
key is gone, and with it went our spirits,
of course. Kurtz blames the Judge; the
Judge, in turn, blames Love; and- ; Love,
meanwhile, swears it's Moyer's doings,
and it is becoming generally believed
that Moyer has the lion's share. No
other accident to report.
On Thursday last there was much flut
ter and dazzle at Potter's Mills among
the fashionables. The day was magnifi
cent, and old Sol fairly laughed as he
shot his rays down among the foliage
upon the bright, fresh throng assembled
for the purpose of holding a S. S. cele
bration. The school presented a mag
nificent appearance as it marched along
under the leadership of its Superintend
ent, Jos. Carson, the toilettes of the lit
tle ones having received great attention,
and exhibiting exquisite taste. The el
der sisters were "gotten up" regardless
of expense. The music far excelled that
usually afflicting celebrators, and the ad
dress of Rev. Mr. Handl was listened to
with interest and close attention. Fol
lowing the address came marching to the
bountifully filled tables. Here we found
choicest groups of flowers, and tangled
evergreens, delicious swaths of cakes,
and the most wonderful of cone-like pyr
amids, all attesting the luxurious taste
of the ladies of Potter's Mills. The in
ner man satisfied, songs, chit chat and
music followed, in agreeable succession,
after which the bye-bye's were spoken,
and another happy time passed down the
"Rivex of Time."
Among the most distinguished guests
present, were Rev. Rob't flamil, Dr. W.
F. Wilson and Hons. S, L. Barr, of Ty
rone, Wm. Thompson, and 'others. In
other than political times, we would
write you more extendedly.
