Tnx How OF Ir.—We ask of every greader of the IREiPI7I3,I.ICAN to peruse the article found elsewhere, in this issue, on ,the Naturalization Law as administered in Centre county by the Court House Ring. If the infamous record of Demo .tratic Luzerne is to be repeated in Cen tre county, it is high time the matter, rand authors of the infamy should re ceive immediate attention. If the Re publican party is to be deliberately ehisted out of a victory, this fall, 'by the old Democratic game played on aaturali zation papers—a systematic abuse of the naturalization ,papers of those of our foreign born desirous of supporting free institutions, and defending the right of worshiping God according to the dic tates of their own consciences, by voting the Republican ticket—we repeat, if such papers, and the undoubted rights of suchmen are to be abused and out raged, it will be very strange if the Belle fonte REPUBLICAN does not traverse that record, and expose the author, or auth- Mors, of the insult and wrong offered in free Pennsylvania, to our foreign born citizens. We propose to defend the right's of every man, woman and child, who has fled from monarchial tyranny, to the haven of justice offered by the American government to the oppressed of every clime and nationality. We pro pose to gibbet the motley crew of sub- orned, and false witnesses who would do this class of our population foul and .devilish wrong. We propose to do this, though others falter and turn back thro' fdar or favor; and, once for all, we say, "Come weal come woe, come wind come rack, kt Nast we'll die with harness on onr back ." Pharooh's rod of iron visited less heavily the backs of the Hebrews than the combi nations of the coal dealers have visited the finances of every consumer of coal. This question comes home to everybody. It is as interesting to the porter as to the merchant, to the laborer as to the lordly contractor- This winter everybody will want to stop the leaks in the household purse, and in it there is none much more vexatious or big ger than that through which escapes the waste in onc'seoal bin. We could but smile in delighted complacency yesterday at see ing the effective and simple manner in which the avarice of the coal speculators is being "headed off" by the inventive skill of Mr. James Spear lc Co., Nos. 1116 ind 1118 Market street. Mr. Spear cannot directly lower the price of coal; but by the use of his Revolving Light, Base Burning Parl,i Stove of 1569, he reduces the consumption of fuel to an extent that, were its use uni versal, would place the entire coal trade— where they soon will be—upon the high stool of tearful repentance for past extor tions. We can but believe that, in this Revolv ing Light Base Burning Parlor Stove of 1869, the point of perfection has been at tained. In Holland the ladies are so neat that they carpet their cow stables, tie the tails of the quadrupeds in pink tissue paper, and place them on little shelves immediate ly behind the stalls. The Revolving Light of 1869 would charm even a Holland ish shrew into perfect amiability. Everybody having a hungry stove should take the ear liest possible steps to send it to the auction room. Everybody having the old style of dust-dispersing stove, with its insatiate ap petite, that hag 210,122010 mercy on a ton of Married. "Seeini?," says the old proverb, "is be lieving." Give ten minutes' inspection to Mr. Spear's Revolving Light of 1869, and you aro as certain to order one as you are to feel resentment at the combinations of the coal trade. A burning mass of any thing, from a brush heap to a peck of an thracite, burns in a conical shape. In the common stove your fuel is aglow most in the centre. In the Revolving Light of 186 S the exquisite philosophy of the inventor makes the flame consume the coal on the outside, where the head is wanted. You fill a chamber in the upper part of the stove with a twenty-four hours' supply. The bottom of this coal is up the fire, and there feeds the flame, regulating itself with automatic. accuracy in a manner that comes home alike to your admiration, your comfort and your pocket-book. And so beautiful is the article that it ta kes the dignity of an ornamental piece of feurnitnre. Through the mica is emitted a circle of softened light, quite strong enough either to read or to sew by. Said Cowper; "Not undelighful is an hour to me In parlor twilight spent." The poet wrote along porno upon the sub ject of the sofa; but iu his day there were no Jas. Spear. no greedy coal dealers, no Revolving Li••ht Base Burning Parlor Stove To produce this was left to be the broadest leaf in the laurel that crowns the inventive brow of 1869. Mr. Spear makes no profession to work miracles—the fault we find with him if his reluctance to do full justice to his modest merit. Let every one see this stove, and wn feel no apprehension that any ono will say of us, "Beshrew him for his counsel." What is trne of the Revolving Light of 69' is true, also, of the Calorific Cooking Stove, by the same inventor, by which the heat is equally distributed upon c , rresponding principles. Wholesale dealers who base net yet obtained the agency for these stoves, we think, will find it to their very decided ad vantage to communicate at once xvithlllessrs. Our grandfather's stove, what a funny Old thing, So deep, so wide end so tall; Now the people would say, who are stylish and gay, " It was only a hole in the wall." It matters not what, it was pleasant to see When night's mantle was flung over all; Grandfather take down his good book and read By the light from the hole in the wall. As the sturdy young men rolled in the great logs, They would laugh at each wintry squall s Whilrt grandma would sit on her old chair and knit By the light from the whole in the wall. The girls then wore home spun, and so did their beaux's, For pride was a principle small ; And courting was done and hearts have been won By the light from the hole in the wall. The neighbors were friendly Wherever thry'd meet, With. a word of true kindness for all; And joy was complete to bear voices so sweet Ring round that old hole in the wall. In those days we know, folks cared not for show, Of improvements knew nothing at all; But 'twas really no joke, when great clouds of smoke Rushed out from the hole in the wall. But those days ase now o'er, we shall know them no more, And all those old fashions have flown; Whilst the solemn and gay are coming each day To purchase the famous "OLD HOME." Coming not only in couples, but in scores, as hundreds of good and wise men and women have done before, to look — upon this magnificent sttvo, which is acknowledged to be the best cooking stove of the age.
