The Lawrence Guards and Reynolds
Rifles, who went into camp at Camp
Daugherty on the lltb iost, under com*
mand of Gen. Winans, broke camp on
Saturday. The Lawrence Guards, under
Capt. James Hale, and accompanied with
the New Castle brass band, made a fine
appearance, and deserve praise for their
discipline and soldieily bearing. A finer
body of men than the Reynolds Rifles
cannot be found in this section of conn*
try. Although the weather was a dam
per, the boys enjoyed themselves hugely,
and the company and battalion drills were
conducive to health and military knowl
edge and discipline.

A. Word to Working People.— Meehan,
ice, artisans, factory hands, and people who labor
idi a flnd it very difficult if not impossible
to keep the bands free from stain. Hand Sapolio
will not only remove every particle of stain and
what is called -‘grained In dirt," but It will also
keep the skin soft and pliable, rendering the mus
cular action as quick and easy as is the case with
those who do not periorm hand labor. It is only
10 and 15 cents a cake, according to size. Every
mechanic should use it constantly in place of all
other soaps.
The Wear mod Tear of Life
The cares, anxieties and misfortunes of life have
8 much to do with shortening it as disease. They
are in fact, the source of many ailments and physi
cal disabilities Nervous weakness, dyspepsia,
affections of the liver, distnrbances of the bowels,
headache, hypochondria and monomania are
among these distressing fruits. It is, therefore
of great importance that persons-whose minds are
opposed with heavy responsibilities or barrassed
by family troubles, or excited hy speculation, or
perplexed by a multiplicity of enterprises, or in
any way over taxed or overworked, should keep
their stamina by the daily nse of a wholesome tor
ic. Thousands of persons thus circumstanced are
enabled to bear up against the difficulties in which
they are involved, and to retain their strength,
health and mental clearness by the regular use of
Hostetler’s Stomach Bitters. Diseases which are
prone to attack the body when debilitated and
broken down by over-much brain woik, or ex
hausting physical labor, are kept at bay by the re
sistant power with which this incomparable tonic
endows the nervous system and the vital |organs.
At this season, when the heat is evaporating the
elements of strength from every pore, rn invigor
ant is absolutely essential to the safety and com
fort of the public, and ii required even by the
more robust if they desire to keep their athletic
capabilities in status quo. Hence a course of Hos
tetler's Bitters is particularly useful at this|pcriod
of the year as a defence against the Invisible dis
ease afloat in a sultry atmosphere. It is the most
potent of all preventive medicines, and for all
complaints which affect the stomach, the liver and
the bowels, and interfere with the perfect diges
tion and asslmilation'pf food, it is the standard
remedy.
