—Mrs. Henneasy, the woman who murdered
her two children in a fit of religions frenzy o»
Wednesday evening, in New York has been taken
to a lunatic asylum.
—Thomas Doyle, mate of the steamer Grand
Tower, was murdered by a negro named Ranster,
on Friday, below Cairo, while the boat was under
way. The negro escaped.
—A town on the St. Francis river. Ark., contain
ing a population of 4,000 persons, was nearly de
stroyed byjdro on Thursday night. The loss wil
reach $53,000; but little insurance.
—Memphis Life and General Insurance Bank, of
Memphis. Tiun., D. P. Malloy, president, sus
p.Qded yesterday morning. Liabilities, st>,ooo.
Said to be fully covered by the assets.
