Allah Moral Entertainment — A
Bolt Eight in New Mexico.
The folloWing is from the Santa Fe
Nor .31exicarr:
Santa - Fe amuses itself with cock
lighting, but our sister city, Los Ve
. gos, agues us a few better, and makes
a bully entertainment for the sport
ing citizens. We are reliably inform
• ed that the bull fighter stands with a
huge, sharp, cheese knife directly in
front of the flawing eyes of the mad
dened, charging bull (he is prev iously
made mad by a 'visit to several of the
saloons there) and walttes a few steps
of "IA Sentinela" to give a graceful
effect, raises his murderous weapon
:.traight up in the air above his head,
ahems, mentions a few saints names.
cries "carajo!" and for a few S rcond.i
disappears from view is the light
ning rapidity of his movements. lie
is next seen superbly bowing and
sweetly smiling, while the infuriate I
beast is observed to have a bloody
collar about his neck—the skillful
hero has entirely severed his conheet
tion between the skin, on the, head
and the rest of the body ! The ani
mal turns, and with a speed doubled
tic his increased rage, charges upon
his would-be victim . , again. The
dauntleas gladiator, With distended
nostrils, flashing eyes and comprtssed
lips, kirks out fist one leg and Men
the other. He is making timpani
for a desperate effort. He
nu Hs his knife from him. He sees
no one now but his dreadful antago
nist. As tie contestants rapidly ap
proach each other the vast audience
rs breathlesS with interast and excite
anent, and just at the fearful moment
when the spectators, beholding the
horns of the incarnate bull fiend at
the breast of the gladiator, hide their
faces from the horrible vision, the
gladiator scAkes both thighs . , blows
his muscle, snorts, springs above the
hull, turns a double summersault,
gnaps the uplifted tail as he passes,
strikes fair on his feet, gives theehull
-a swing, a short, whip-like jerk, and
,„sends him out °rids hide with a loud
pop, like the sudden bursting of elev
en hundred bladders. Ile onwls in
tothe empty hide of his vanquished
antagonist and lopes out millet the
vheers and applacse of the people.
