About Applications roe License
so Sell Liquors.—We notice that' the
License Board of Allegheny countyhave
ordered the publication in the papers.
.the names of all applicants :for license,
to soil intoxicating liquors, with the
names of-their "indorsers" and bonds
men. All zensOnstranechs are to be laid
tefore this license board. The 'Publics:
tion of the 'mauls of the' indorsers Is a
good idea, and wh would ho much grati
fied to see it adopted 'wades county. A
law, we presnuse, to that end, would be
necessary. But if we had it, we appre
hend that any number of gentlemen who
are now in the `indorsing' business,
would feel like giving it up, if the cer
tainty of their names 'appearing in the.
public papers, in that connection, stared
them in the face. Why don't the tem
pelance s o on of this county, Move in
that direction ? If the indorsement of
men of standinft can thus be prevented,
the indorsement olothers would likely
have little or no 'freight. with the courts.
