Fatal .Aeeldeut.--0n Wednesday evening last, Coroner Barker was sum moned to the home of John •Springer; a ficorman;_witciieeidad In Shebang° Imp., Lawrence county, to hold an inquest. Ho was about- twenty feet from the butt of the tree when found. The tree had struck his head.when falling. crushing him to ground, and then fell upon his legs, boys of which were broken. An inquest was held and a verdict rendered In accord ance with the above facts. Mr. Springer was about fifty years old and leaves a wife but no children. • . A Ministerial, 4, liters-Look. " Rev. ,A. B. Bradford, a Enon Valley, and Rev. Dr. Junkie, of New Castle, are having a lively "tilt" In the,New, Cattle papers. It seems a man named Johnson 4ioditelhort limo ago, in Lawrence Co.. actin was Mr. liradtbrd's friend. John son was known as the "Obscure Philos opher' Mr. Bradford was requested, a short time after Johnson's decease,. to pronolinor a eulogy setting forth the pet culler traits in the life and - ctiriacter of the dead man. Ile did so, and the eulogy or lecture, bl whichever term it may be called, was published. In it Mr. Brad ford said some things which Dr. Junkin pronounced anti-Biblical and anti-Chris tian; and thereupon, gave notice through one of the papers that he would " reach for" Mr. Bradford, in the course of a week or two. • Mr. B. took time by the forelock and "went for" Dr. Dunkin la the Onward before the latter got fairly Into the ring. The Dr., however, is on time now, and the way the two are paw ing the dust and goring mach other Is rather frightful to contemplate.
