;Mod Dog Shot in Allegheny.—
Our exchanges, from nearly all parts of
the country, have been tilled, all winter,
with accounts of mad dogs and their do-
Ings, and. the horrible results of their
doings. Heretofore, however, our own
city and vicinity , has escaped oven the
suspicion of hydrophobia. An incident
occurred this morning,'. however, which
Shown Milton'. immunity 'shy no moans
entirely secured. At the house of Mr.
Carothers, on Monterey street, move
Taylor avenue, Allogheny,• was a little
pet dog. AU the Members of the fami
ly wore very fond of the animal, and he
was allowed every privilege. This mor
ning none of the male mealier. of the
family wore about the premises. Mrs.
Carothers, a female rotative and the ser
vant girl were in the dining room, and
With them was the canine.. Suddenly
the dog wag noticed to manifest symp
toms of violence and very coon he -devel
oped every appearance of madtteSa. lie
frothed at the mouth, leaped frantically
about the room, and seemed - In the ut
most agony at the eight of the glittering
glass it, the windoW. Once ho jumped
upon the lap of his nastreas and snapped
viclouily at hor;hut fortunately did not
bite hor. At length he WVA driven
through an open door Into the back
-yard, where, ho made every effort. to
Jump over the high fence, but Ineffectu
ally: Major Nance, *1 neighbor, was
sninmoned, and soon dispatched the
animal with his revolver. We would
suggest that all' unmuzzled dogs be dis
posed of hi the tame manner.—Pieftt.
