Grapes on the Fir it Of January.—On New
Year'arnorning Dr. Dempsey's lady, of this place,
made us a present of several very fine bunches of
grapes. They appeared as plump and luscious as when
taken from,the vine in the fall. We are not advised es
to how she kept them so , well preserved, but are con
tent to sap -that a treat of this 'find on the Ist °Um:
nary, is alliing never before enjoyed by us. She has
our thanks.
