PENNSYLVANIA WARNS
MOTOR TRUCK OWNERS
The Pennsylvania Bureau of Mo-
tor Vehicles has issued a nation-
wide warning that the State is
strictly enforcing the law concern-
ing the maximum length, weight
and height of motor vehicles and
combinations of vehicles operating
on Pennsylvania highways.
The State law sets maximum
length of single motor vehicles at
33 feet and of combinations coupled
together at 70 feet.
Particular attention will be paid,
the bureau said, to long-swaying
motor trains used to transport au-
tomobiles from manufacturers to
dealers.”
State highway patrolmen will be
stationed at all important bridges
and highways leading into the State
and motor vehicles will be
halted and measured.
During the war an officer was
shocked to find that one of his
soldiers was hiding in a shell hole.
“Here,” he said, “you come out of
that!”
The fear of the enemy's bullets
overcame the man's discipline. “You
may be my superior officer, but all
the same I found this hole first.”
————————
“Hello, Tom, got a job yet?”
“Yes, I'm selling furniture now.”
“Selling much?”
“Only my own so far.”

Altoona
Booster
Stores’
Prices Are
Low!
A shopping tour through Al-
toona Booster Stores will reveal
the information that desirable,
seasonable merchandise is being
offered right now at exception-
ally low prices!
In fact merchants, who have
been in business for years, say
that they are selling goods now
at prices that compare favor-
ably with those in effect before
1913—the year that seems to
be the basis for present day
price comparisons!
Now Is
The Time
To Buy
These low prices cannot last for
all time. Basic prices are even
now showing a tendency to ad-
vance, which means that manu-
facturers and producers must
get more for their products in
the near future.
This means that every family
should buy as liberally as possi-
ble and provide for fall and
winter home and personal needs
right now, while prices are so
low, and assortments of mer-
chandise are so satisfactory!
You will find that your dollars
will buy more in ALTOONA
BOOSTER STORES than any-
where you can invest them-—
and you will also receive one-
hundred percent satisfaction
with every purchase!
