from a bad attack of pneumonia.
Miss Celia Gardner, of Tyrone, is
visiting at the Methodist parsonage.
Merchant George R. Dunlap was a
business visitor in Altoona last Fri-
ay. :
Mrs. Catherine Saunders, of Centre
Hall, visited friends on the Branch
last week:
Fred Osman, wife and two interest-
ing boys, spent Sunday at the George
Reed home.
S. E. Ward and wife spent Sunday
at the Elmer Houtz home down
Pennsvalley.
George W. Ward, a contractor, of
Pittsburgh, is spending this week in
this section.
E. L. Dodd is now in charge of the
blacksmith shop in the Everts car-
riage works.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Little, of Tyrone,
spent Sunday at the Fred Fry home
at Fairbrook.
J. C. Zerby and family moved from
the G. E. Harper farm to the A. J.
Lytle place last Friday.
Farmer Ray Williams is suffering
with several broken ribs, the result of
being kicked by a horse.
Mr. and Mrs. George Reed have
been made happy over the safe arrival
of their first born—a boy.
Mrs. T. A. Mallory, of Altoona, was
a visitor at the John Kimport home
between trains last Friday.
H. L. Dale and C. D. Young, of
Bellefonte, spent Sunday at Mr. Dale’s
parental home on the Branch.
While out ploughing last Thursday
C. M. Dale lost a good horse, the an-
imal dropping dead in its tracks.
After being housed up all winter
the Citizens band was out on Monday
evening discoursing sweet music.
Pennsvalley Lodge No. 276, I. O. O.
F., will be fairly well represented at
the big reunion at Tyrone today.
Lester Harpster has quit the road
as a cigar salesman and is now work-
ing for John Kocher on the McWil-
liams farm.
Pierce O'Bryan and wife and Mrs.
James Harpster spent Sunday with
John W. Miller, who is confined to
bed with illness.
Robert Corl, Will Ross, Harry
Spicher and Tommy Glenn motored
up from Pleasant Gap on Sunday and
were callers at the Will Glenn home.
Paul Campbell is ill with the grip
and tonsilitis. Fay Randolph, who
has been confined to bed for some
time, is now able to be out and around.
Dr. Glass, of Uniontown, holds the
trout catching record in this vicinity,
catching a basket full on Spruce
Creek which measured from 15 to 25
inches'in length. Bittiie Das gr
: Little Albert Homan, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Charles T. Homan, of the
Branch, was trampled upon by a young
mule a few days ago but escaped with
some ugly bruises.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Resides, of Wash-
ington, D. C., are visiting relatives in
the valley before leaving for Los An-
geles, Cal. Mr. Resides has been em-
ployed in the navy department at
Washington.
Ruth Wrigley, the small daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wrigley, who
recently underwent a serious opera-
tion at the Bellefonte hospital, was
brought home on Sunday and is con-
valescing nicely.
