No Hot Contests and Light Vote Cast All Over County. The absence of any close contests on the state ticket, and very few lo- cally resulted in a light vote being ‘cast at Tuesday’s election in every precinct in Centre county. In Belle- fonte, for instance, the only contest was for tax collector between Herbert Auman, Republican, and John M. Keichline, Democrat, and Auman de- feated Keichline by 451 majority. None of the other candidates for any office had opposition, most of them being on both tickets, so that there never was any question about their election. In quite a number of pre- cincts in the county the women made their vote count by electing women te offices, but in the majority of districts the dominant party held sway. As has been its custom for a num- ber of years the “Watchman” here- with gives the complete vote cast in every district in Centre county for all local offices, with the exception of the scattering vote, but they cut no figure in the result. Following is the vote: Office Republican Democrat BELLEFONTE—N. W. Judge—Jno G. Love 409...Jno G. Love 191 Ins—M. R. Johnson 418...H. N. Meyer 197 Ass—W M. Baney 418....W. M.
