Know Your Potatoes. As a part of the potato improve- ment program for Centre county J. N. Robinson, county agent, has ar- ranged to hold several potato roguing demonstrations. At these field meetings E. L. Nixon, extension plant pathologist, will point out the differences between diseased and hearty potato plants. It is abso- lutely impossible to detect many of the most serious potato diseases after the potatoes have been raised. The proper time to select your seed pota- toes is during the growing season, hence these meetings will be held in the field and while the plants are still growing. If you are at all interested in effi- cient potato production you can not afford to plant diseased potatoes. At- tend one of these roguing demonstra- tions and then clean up enough of your own potato field to supply you with good healthy seed for the next spring. The schedule of meetings follows: Friday, August 19, at 9:30 a.m, at A. B. Ellenberger’s, near Gatesburg. Friday, August 19, at 1:30 p. m,, at [ J. M. Campbell’s, near Pennsylvania Furnace. Saturday, August 20, at 9:30 a. m,, at Lloyd White's, on road from Pleas- ant Gap to Zion: Saturday, August 20, at 1:30 p. m,, at R. P. Confer’s, near Howard. has ood Zi als 3 i — The ice situation in Bellefonte has eased up considerably since the passing of the extreme hot weather and householders are experiencing little difficulty in securing a necessary supply. While there is very little nat- ural ice in stock here the demand on artificial plants in adjoining towns is not so great and Bellefonte dealers are able to get fairly regular ship- ments. — Weather permitting the Re- formed Sunday school will picnic at Hecla park today. mal e—— Political Announcements.
