CENTRE HALL.
A daughter was born to Rev. _and
Mrs. M. C. Drumm on Monday night.
Rev. Bingman was returned to the '
Evangelical church by their confer-
ence. Every one is glad to see him
back.
A heavy rain storm, accompanied
by thunder, lightning and hail, visited
our town on Monday night about pe
night.
In the future the hotel at Potter’s
Mills will be in charge of J. Witmer
Lee and wife, who moved inte it on
Monday.
On Thursday evening, the 17th,
Hendershott, a Civil war veteran, and
his son, will give an entertainment in
Grange hall.
The Literary society of the High
school will render a play, “Our Awful
Aunt,” in Grange hall. A collection
will be lifted.
Tuesday evening Mss Laura Run-
kle entertained the crganized Sunday
school class of which Mrs. Arthur
Kerlin is teacher.
J. F. Lutz and John Rine’s family
spent several days at the home of
Frank Lutz, near Zion, helping make
and eat the usual sale sandwiches.
Miss Mary Kennedy went to visit
her sister, Mrs. E. L. Bartholomew, in
Altoona, on Tuesday. She contem-
plates being away from home for al-
most a month.
The spring sales are on in earnest
this week, and from now on those who
follow up these sales will be busy for
several weeks. Then will come the
“spring flittings.”
On Wednesday evening, the 16th,
the Rebekah Lodge will serve a chick-
en and noodle supper in the I. 0. O. F.
hall, to which the public is cordially
invited. The charge will be 35 cents
a plate.
_ The Grange hall housed an attrac-
tion every night the past week. They
were plays given by a family who
travel around from town to town. The
plays were of a good character and
were well presented.
B. D. Brisbin, who went to the home
Ser-
son, in Hartford, Conn., some weeks
ago, returned to his home on 1 Monday.
He reports that Mr. Robertson is not
recovering his health as rapidly as
could be desired.
