We, the undersigned, Commission- ers of Centre county, have cancelled all contracts with the Bell Telephone company and have removed their telephones from the various county offices on July 1, 1920, with the excep- tion of the Judge’s Chambers and the ! District Attorney’s office. The Com- missioners have taken this action because of the recent changes adopted by the Bell Telephone Company by which toll charges are imposed on calls between Bellefonte and the vari- ous towns and communities in the county, and for the reason that it is impossible for the Commissioners to keep strict account of all calls over telephones in the county offices and distinguish between private and busi- ness matters, the calls are charged to the telephone number from which the calls are made, without naming the parties holding the conversations. The Commissioners regret the in- convenience this will cause the resi- dents of the county, but it has been impossible to make satisfactory ar- rangements with the management of the Bell Telephone Company that will insure the keeping of satisfactory re- cords. The Commissioners protest the imposition of toll rates according to the new zone system of the Bell Tele- phone Company. H. P. AUSTIN, GEO. H. YARNELL. GEO. M. HARTER, Commissioners of Centre county. Therefor it would be wise for you to lay in your winter coal supply now and forestall the danger of a rise in price when the regular fall demand sets in. Besides, you can get it free from ice and snow and now we will have time to screen it and deliver to you in the best condition. Considering the uncertainties of the coal market the coal in your cellar is worth more than the money that would pay for it is in your bank. If you want coal let us know your needs and we will do our best for you. Centre County Junk and Fuel Co. BELLEFONTE, PA. Yard and Office near P. R. R. Passenger Station. 65-23-tf NEW ADVERTISEMENTS.
