The semi-annual district convention
of the Bellefonte district, Allegheny
branch, Christian Endeavor of the
United Brethren church, will be held
in the Houserville U. B. church, on
May 2nd, afternoon and evening.
A very profitable program'is being
arranged and a good time is assured.
Rev. C. W. Winey, the branch pres-
ident, a former pastor of the Belle-
fonte church, will be in attendance
and will give the evening address.

— Miss Bertha Moerschbacher
was taken to the Bellefonte hospital
on Tuesday evening and Wednesday
underwent an operation. Her condi-
tion since has been favorable for an
early and complete recovery.
—Last year 7,500 murders were
committed in the United States. The
cities with the highest homicide rec-
ord are Memphis, Atlanta, New Or-
leans, Nashville and Charleston; the
five lowest—Newark, N. J., Provi-
dence, R. I, Rochester, N. Y., Milwau-
kee, Wis., and Reading, Pa.
— They are all good enough, but
the “Watchman” is always the best.

having issued his precept, bearing date
the 19th day of April, 1918, to me di-
rected for holding a Court of Common
Pleas, Orphans’ Court, Court of Quarter
Sessions of the Peace, Oyer and Terminer
and General Jail Delivery, in Bellefonte,
for the County of Centre, and to commence
on the
THIRD MONDAY OF MAY,
20th day of May, 1918,
to continue as business may require.
Notice is hereby given to the Coroner,
Justices of the Peace, Alderman and Con-
stables of said County of Centre, that
they be then and there in their proper
persons at 10 o’clock in the forenoon of
the 20th, with their records, inquisitions,
examinations and their remembrances to
do those things which to their office apper-
tains to be done, and those, who are
bound in recognizances, to prosecute
against the prisoners that are or shall be
in the jail of Centre County, be then and
there to prosecute against them as shall be
ust.

Convention
A very helpful convention of the
Milesburg district of the Centre
county Sabbath school association
was held in the United Brethren
church, Runville, last Monday.
Nearly all the schools in the dis-
trict were represented, and all went
home greatly helped.
The following persons took part in
the program: Miss Robison, State
rural department superintendent;
Dr. E. H. Yocum, of Bellefonte; Rev.
W. A. Lepley, of Milesburg; Rev. A.
J. Orlidge, of Runville; Rev. T. B.
Tingue, of Unionville, and Rev. Car-
rol, of Port Matilda.
The next convention will be held in
the Pleasant Valley United Brethren
church, in Boggs township.
