Jacob Klinger, who has been ill all winter, is not improving very fast, if at all. Rev. Alfred Wirtz departed for Pittsburg, Thursday, where he will help hold meet ings. Levi F. Roan and family drove over to Boalsburg, Saturday afternoon, to the home of Israel Young. Rev. Crumbling delivered a grand sermon, Sunday forenoon, in the U. E. church to a large congregation. David Keller and Claude Hoy started to school on Monday, at Boalsburg. R. TU. Wasson is the teacher. Wn. G. Ogdon, agent for Porter’s Pain King, made his yearly visit in these parts the latter part of last week. The P. R. BR. Co. run a special train through this place, Tuesday, for the purpose of examining new hands employed. Wm. Hoy moved from the Barrens, last Thursday, to the house vacated by Abram Holderman, where he intends making his fature home. Miss Elizabeth LeChim returned to her home at Lock Haven, after teaching a seven month’s term of school in College township and having a pleasant time with her many acquaintances in these parts. This week there has been rain, snow, freez- ing, thundering, lightning, storms, and Mon- day afternoon we had the heaviest storm that has passed over this part of the State for years, the day getting almost as dark asnight.
