winter for we have been having very rough
weather and especially within the last few

The United Brethren meeting opened at
Héuserville Thursday evening and Miss May
Whitehead, the minister in -charge, asks all °
to come and lend a helping hand in trying
to make the meeting a success.
The ladies aid society of United Evangel-
ical church of Lemont will hold a social at -
the home of J. E. Lenker, in Lemont, on
Thursday evening, January 28th, at which
time there will be sold to the highest bidder
a quilt with the names of ovér 300 persons
worked upon it. Everybody is cordially in-
vited. :
Rev. C. C. Miller, of Johnstown, came
here Monday to assist ten days in ‘carrying
on the Houserville U. B. meeting and as he
is a good speaker your correspondent will be-
speak a pleasant time for all who can make
it convenient to attend thie meeting while he
is here, as well as at others times.
The turkey dinner given by Boalsburg
I. 0. O. F. lodge Thursday evening to cele-
brate their twenty-fifth anniversary, was not
well attended as it would have been had not
the roads been drifted full at places, but all
those that succeeded in getting to the ball
had a very pleasant evening recounting
the times spent together during the quarter
century that passed by.
