As annonnced last week, the combhina-
tion will have an American charter, but
those in aathority decline to make known
at this time the state in which the com-
pany will be incorporated.
‘It is authoritatively stated that a “work-
ing arrangement’’ has been made with the
German lines—North German Lloyd and
Hamburg American—as a result of which
the relations between the new combina-
tion and the German cothpanies promise to
be altogether barmonions.
Clement A. Griscom, president of the
international navigation company, was
again in conference with Mr. Morgan’s
partners today. He had nothing to say
for pablication other than thas the pre-
liminary details of the steamship consol-
idation were heing perfected with little
delay.
—— Archbishop Ryau recently visited a
small parish in the mining district of
Schuylkill county for the purpose of ad-
ministering the sacrament of confirmation.
In examining a class he asked one poor,
nervous, frightened little girl what matri-
mony was, and she answered that it was
‘‘a state of terrible toimens which those
who enter are compelled to undergo for
a time to prepare them for a brighter and
better world.”’
and his face was soon a match for his red
tie.
When the car reached the ground floor
its occupants piled out, all giggling—ex-
cept the drummer. The colored woman
stepped out of the elevator ahead of him,
and just as she emerged she said to him,
as a parting shot :
“Now, yon cheap white trash. come
at me again!"
But he didn’t. He had had enough.

Make Your Own Flavoring.
You can make a better lemon or orange
extract than you can buy if vou will peel
the fruit thin, round and round as you
peel an apple, taking none of the inside
skin; then putin a glass jarand cover with
aleohol, or vou may simply chop the peel
very fine, add twice its builk in white
sugar and keep in a close fitting jar. A
teaspoonful of this will flavor cake or pud-
ding very nicely. I tiied pineapple the
same way and found that it was excellent.
Already it is said that one man has
gone insane because of pingpong, but
whether from playing it or reading about
it is uot stated.
Don’t mistake the cause of backache.
To be cured you must know the cause.
It is wrong to imagine relief is cure.
Backache 1s kidney ache,
You must cure the kidneys.
A Bellefonte resident tell you how this can
be done.
Mr. William Va'ance, east Lamb street,
night watchman, says: ‘For 2 years or
more off and on, I had trouble with my
back and pains in the upper partof m
spine accompanied by a disagreeable feel-
ing in my head and acute lameness right
over my kidneys. At first | thought it
was my liver but later found it arose from
the kidneys not acting properly. I read
of the many cures that had been made in
Bellefonte by Doan’s Kidney Pills and [
got them at F. Potts Green's drug store.
‘They stopped the annoyance from the
kidneys and removed the lareness and
aching in my back. They did me any
amount of good and I do not hesitate to
recommend them.”
For sale by all dealers. Price 50 cents.
