munion Sunday morning. Pastor Eisenburg was assisted by Rev. Black of the Boalsburg charge, and Rev. Potts, of this place, while Pastor Christine called into services Rev. Laurie, of Bellefonte, and Rev. Potts. The services were interesting, and well attended by the people 1m general. The borough Democratic cancus will meet Saturday evening to nominate candidates to fill the expired terms of the following offi- cials: councilmen, Jerry Miller ; M. L. Em- erick, Robert Foreman ; school directors,J. A. Reesman, John S. Dauberman, Sr.; Overseer poor, Daniel Fleisher; auditor, D. K. Geiss; Treasurer, H. W. Kreamer ; assessor, D. A. Boozer ; high constable, W. Runkle. The regular elective board will also be nominat- ed. The township Democrats will nominate Saturday afternoon at Centre Hill. The vacancies to fill are elective board, assessor. auditors, overseer poor. There will be some- what of a contest for some of the nominations. Pine Grove Mention. Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Garbrick Sundayed with Spring Mills friends. Mrs. C. T. Aikens has been called to her home in Hanover by the serious illness of her father, Mr. Gitt who is in a very critical- ly condition. G. B. Campbell has purchased the G. W. F. Gray farm of 170 acres adjoining his own. This in connection with the other two farms, will give him plenty of out door exercise. Word has been received from John Archey, who is at the University hospital in Phila., from all appearances will be a very happy affair. The ceremony was celebrated in the presence of a few friends, whose only lament was that the bride had bestowed her heart on a man whose habitation was in a far-off coun- try while so many eligibles at home would gladly have had her genial presence. The groom isa comparative stranger in the com- munity but on the occasion of his several visits he has made a most favorable impres- sion by his agreeableness and refinement. He is said to be well to do and prosperous and after the wedding trip, which was spent at State College and Mill Hall, where Mor- rison Ewing, the brides brother, entertained them royally, they will go to Pittsburg, where elegant quarters have been prepared for their eccupancy. We wish them all hap- piness and prosperity. Obituary. Jacob C. Smith, a well known and highly esteemed resident of Howard township, Cen- tre Co.
