ReTurNED.— Lieut. Neil Harrold, of this
place, who belongs to the 45ih Reg. P, V.,
has returned to his home, having resigned
his commission. Neil looks good and, we
have no doubt, feels good in being once

having been in the army ever since the war
commenced. We congratulate him on his
safe return.

On Tuesday night last, about eight o'clock
the quietness of ou town was disturbed by
the alarming cry of ‘fire.” The distruc-
tive conflagrations that Lave lately taken
place in Lock Haven and Lewistown, arous-
ed the fears of all that Bellfonte was to be
visited dy the same frightful scenes, and
every one able to move, ran, helter-skelter,
to the scene of danger, which proved, how-
ever, to be nothing but the burning out of
the chimney, belonging to one of old Abes
“free Americans of African decent,” *‘no-
body being hurt,” the crowd quietly dis-
persed.

(7 Price, the ‘celebrated’ horse-tamer,
was in town this week, and drew quita a
crowd, of all sorts and sizes. What the
abilities of this man are, in the horse-tam-
ing line, we are not able to say. as his per-
formances, did not come under our pefson-
al observation, save in one or two instances
when the animals were not very unmanage-
abie, Report speaks favorably of him, how-
ever, and those who have fractious horses or
mules might give him a trial, This is the
age i humbuggery, and if this man should
turn ‘out a humbug, we should not be a: all
surprised. We doabt very much if another
