as Tumors, Ulcers, Sores, Eruptions,

04KLAND, Ind., 6th June, 1850.
J. C. Aver & Co. Gents: I feel it my duty to ac-
knowledge what your sarsaparilla has done for me.
Having inherited a Scrofnlous infection, I have suffered
from it in various ways for years. Sometimes it burst
out in Ulcers on my hands and arms; sometimes it
turned iuward and distressed me at the stomach. Two
years ago it broke out on my head and covered my scalp
and ears with one sore, which was painful and loathsome
beyond description. 1 tried many medicines and several
physicians, but without much relief from any thin, In
fact, the disorder grew worse. At length I was re 2
to read in the Gospel Messenger that you had prey
an alterative (Sarsaparilin), for I knew from your reputa-
tion that any thing you made must be good. I sent to
Cincinnati and got it, and used it till it cured me. I took
it, as you advise, in small doses of a teaspoonful over a
month, and used almost three bottles. New and healthy
skin goon began to form under the scab, which after a
while fell off. My skin is now clear, and I know by my
feelings that the disease has gone from my system. Yon
can well believe that I feel what 1 am saying when 1 tell
you, that I hold you to be one of the apostles of the age,
and remain ever gratefully.

Dr. J. B. 8. Channing, of New York City, writes; “I

saying I have found your Sarsaparilla a most excellent
elterative in the numerous complaints for which we
employ such a remedy, but especially in Female Diseases
of the Scrofulous diathesis. I have cured many inveter-
ate cases of Leucorrheea by it, and some where the com-
plaint was caused by ulceration of the uterus. The ulcer-
ation itself was soon cured. Nothing within my knowl-
edge equals it for these female derangements.”
Edward 8. Marrow, of Newlhury, Ala., writes, “A dan-
gerous ovarian tumor on one of the females in my family,
which had defied all the remedies we conld employ, bas
at length been completely cured by your Extract of Sar-

Sarsaparilla as the last resort before cutting. and it
proved effectual. After taking your remedy eight weeks
no symptom of the disease remains.”

NEW Orneans, 25th August, 1859.
Dr. J. C. Aver: Sir, T cheerfully comply with the re-

eaten away a considerable part of it, so that I believe the
disorder would soon reach his brain and kill him. But it

Many remarkable cures of these affections have been
made by the alterative power of this medicine. It stimu-

THE ONLY DISCOVERY
WORTHY OF ANY CONFIDENCE FOR
‘RE STORING THE BALD AND GRAY
Many, since the, discovery of “Prof. Wood
have attex:pted not only to imitaty his restorative.
bat Jyofeas to discovered something that
would produce results identical ; but they have
all come and gone, being carried away by the
wonderful results of Prof. Wood's proparation
and have been forced to leave the field to its re.
sistless sway. Read the following :
Bath, Maine, April 18th, 1859.
Pror 0. J. Woop & Co* Gents: —The letter
Iwrote you in 1856, concerning your valuable
Hair Restorative, and which you have published
in this vicinity and elsewhere, has given rise to
numerous enquiries touching the facts in the case.
The enquiries are, first, isit a factof my Labita-
tion and name, as stated in the communication.
second. ig it true of all therein coutained ; third;
dees my hair still continue to be in good order and
of natural color ? To all I can and do answer in-
variably yes. My hair is even better thanin an
stage of my life for 40 years past, more soft, thrif-
7, and better colored ; the same is true of m
wiskers, and the only cause why it is not gener
ally true, is that the substance ‘is washed off by
frequent abolution of the face, when if eare were
used by Fipiag ihe face in close connection with
the whiskers, the same result will follow as the
hair. T have been in the receipt of a great num-
ber of letters from all parls of Now England, ask-
ing me if my hair still continues to be good ;
there is so much fraud in the manufacture and
sale of various compounds as well as this, it has,
no doubt been basely imitated and been used, not
only without any good effect, but to absolute in
jury. I have not used any of your Restorative of
any account for some months, and yet my hair is
as good as ever, and hundreds have exam ined it
with surprise, as I am now 61 years old and nota
ray hair in my head or on my face ; and to prove
this fact, I send you a lock of my hair taken off
the pest week. I received your favor of two quart
| bottles last summer, for which I am very grate-
i ful ; I gave it to my friends and thereby induced
, them to try it, many were skeptical until after
| trial and then purchased and used it with univer
sal uccess. I will ask as a favor, that you send
me a test by which I can discover fraud in the
* Restorative, sold by many, I fear, without author-
| tty from you. A pure article will insure success,
and I believe where good effects do not follow. the
| failure is caused by the impure article, which curs-
} | es the inveutor of the good. I deem it my duty,
as horetofore, 10 keep you apprised of the contin-
ued effect on my hair, as I assure all who enquire
of me of my nushaken opinion of its valuable re-
sults. I remain, dear sir, yours,
A.C. RAYMOND.

every kind of Restoratives extant, but without
