WORTIY OF ANY CONFIDENCE FOR
RERTORING THE BALD AND GRAY.
0
Many, since the great discovery of Prof. Wood,
have attempted not only to imitate his restorative.
but profess to have discovered something that
would produce results identical ; but they have
all come and gone, being carried away by the
wonderful results of Prof. Wood's preparation,
and have been forced to leave the field to its re-
sistless sway. Read the following :
Bara, Mave, April 18th, 1859.
Pror 0.J. Woop & Co: Gents: —The letter
I wrote you in 1856, concerning your valuable
Hair Restorative, and which you have published
in this vicinity and elsewhere, has given tise to
numerous enquiries touching the facts in the case.
The enquiries are, first, isit a factof my habita-
tion us} name, ag stated in the communication ;
second, is it true of all therein coutained ; third.
does ny hair still continue to be in good order and
of naturaleotor ? To all I can and do answer in-
variably yes. My hair is even better thanin any
stage of my life for 40 years past, more soft, thrif-
ty. and better colored ; the 8 iz true of my
whigkers, and the orly cause why it is not gener
ally true, is that the substance is washed off by
frequent abolution of the face, when if care were
used by wiping the face in close connection with
the whiskers, the same result will follow as the
hair. I have beén in the receipt of a great num
ber of letters from all parls of New England, ask-
ing me if my hair still eoutinues to be good; as
there weh fraud in the manufacture and
sale of rious compounds a3 well as this, it has,
ne doubt been basely imitated and been used, not
only without any good effect, but to absolute in
jury. I have not used any of your Restorative of
any account for some months, and yet my hair is
ver, and hundreds have examined it
8 old and not a
my head or on my face ; and to prove
. i send you a lock of my hair taken off
the pest week. I received your favor of two quart
bottles last summer, for which I am very grate-
ful; { give it to my friends and thereby induced
them to try it, many were skeptical until after
trial, then purchased and used it with univer-
aul su s. I will ask es a favor, that youn send
me a test by which I can discover fraud in the
Restorative, sold by many, I fear, without author-
ity from you. A pure article will insure success,
and I believe where good effects do not follow. the
failure is caused by the impure article, which curs-
es the inveutor of the good. m it my duty,
ug horetofore, 10 keep you apprised of the contin-
ued effeat on my hair, as T assure all who enquire
of me of my uushaken opinion of its valuable re-
syita. I remain, dear sir, yours,
A. C. RAYMOND.
Aaroxs Ruy, Kr., Nov. 30,4858.
Pror. 0. J. Woop : Dear sir.—I would certain-
ly bedoing you a great injustice not to make
known to the world, the wonderful, as well as the
unexpected result I have experienced from using
ox bottle of your Hair Restorative. After using
kind of Restoratives extant, but without
s, and finding my head nearly destitute of
hair, I was finally induced to try a bottle of your
Hair Restorative. Now, candor and justice com-
pel me to announce to whoever may read this, that
1 now poesess a new and beautiful head of hair,
which I pronounce richer and handsomer than the
original wee. I will therefore take occasion to re-
commend this invaluable remedy to ann who may
feel the necessity of it. x

: AYER’S
CATHARTIC
Piii.s.
Are yon sick, feeble, and
complaining? Are you out of
order, with your s;
yinpe
ften the prelude to
p! Some fit of
sickness is creeping upon you,
and should be averted by a
timely use of the right remr
edy. Take Ayer's Pills, and
cleanse out the disordered hu-
mors — purify the blood, and
let the fluids move on unob-
structed in health again,
They stimulate the functions
of the body iuto vigorous ac-
tivity, purify the system from
the obstructions which wake
disease. A cold settles somewhere in the body, and ob-
structs its natural functions. These, if not relieved,
react upon themselves and the surrounding Organs, pro-
ducing general aggravation, suffering, and disense.
While in this condition, oppressed by the derangewcnts,
take Ayer’s Pills, and see how directly they restore the
natural action of the system, and with it the buoyant
fueling of health again, = What is true and so apparent in
this trivial and common complaint, is also true in many
of the deep-seated and dangerous distempers. The same
purgative effect expels them. Caused by similar obstruc-
tions and derangements of the natural functions of the
body, they are rapidly, and many of them surely, cured
by the same means. None who know the virtnes of these
Pills, will neglect to employ then when suffering from
the disorders they cure.
Statements from leading physicians in gome of the
principal cities, and from other well known publis per-
sons.
From a Forwarding Merchant of St. Louis, Fvb. 4, 1853.
DR. Aver: Your Pills are the paragon of all that is
great in medicine. They have cured my little daughter
of ulcerous sores upon her hands and feet that had proved
iucurable for years. Her mother has been long griev-
ously afflicted with blotches and pi ples on her skin and
in her hair. After our chily nes caved, she also tried
our Pills, aud they have cured her.
z : ASA MORGRIDGE.
As a Family Physic,
From Dr. E. W. Cartwright, Nv Orleans.
Your Pills are the prince of purges. Their excellent
qualities surpass any cathartic we possess. They aro
mild, but very certain and effectual in their action on the
bowels, which makes them invaluable to us jn the daily
treatment of disease.
Headache,SickHeadache, Foul Stomach.
From Dr. Edward Boyd, Baltimore.
Dear Bro. AYER: I cannot answer you what complaints
1 have cured with your Pills better thun to say all that we
ever (reat with a purgative medicine. | piace great depen-
dence on an effectual cathartic in my daily contest with
disease, and believing as T do that your Pills afford us the
best we have, I of course value them highly.
PitspurG, Pa., May 1, 1858,

which they cleanse at onco.

rom Dr. Theodore Bell, of New York City.
Not only are your Pills admirably adapted to their pur-
poso as an aperient, but I find their beneficial effects upon
the Liver very marked indeed. They have in my pracs

Sir: I have used your Pills in my general and hospital
practice ever since you made them, and cannot hesitate to
gay they are the best cathartic we employ. Their regu-
Jating action on the liver is quick and decided, conse-
quently they are an admirable remedy for derangements
of that organ. Indeed, L have seldom found a case of
bilious disease so obstinate that it did not readily yield to
them. Fraternally yours, ALONZO BALL, M.D,

From Dr. J. G. Green, of Chicago,
Your Pills have had a long trial in my practice, and I
hold them in esteem as one of the best aperients I have

them an excellent remedy, when given in small doses for
bilious dysentery and diarrhea. Their sugar-coating
makes them very aceeptable aud convenient for the use
of women and children.
