morning, prior (Oho departure of the Fen

lock, of the Methodist Utrarch, lerhieb found
a deep response in the hearts of all present,
and the Court [louse was crowded to its
utmost capacity. Rev, Odillo Voudergreon,
of the Catholic Church, then made a few
remarks, closing with en earnest prayer.--
Mr Vondergiven goes with the army. Rev
Mr. Yields, of the Episcopal Church. then
mule a few feeling remarks to the Fencibles,
after which Rev. Mr. Barnard, the talented
young pastor of Ilia ,Presbyterian Church
.made a short but thrilling address, implor-,
tog Cod's blessing upon the men ..and the
cause in which tiny have engaged. The
venerable Mr. Linn then pronounced the
benediction, after which the rencibles took
leave of their friends, and prepared to enter
the vehicles to readiness to oiniviiy them to
• LOWNLOwn. Immense crowds lured the
streets all morning, and the departure of the
soldiers was greeted with cheer uponplieer.

A terrible murder was committed at:Kling..

by a woman. The scene of the murder was

murdered by her step sister, a married wo
man, the wife of a si rgeaut major, who,
while nt that state nearly severed her head
from her hotly, dividing the right carotid ar•
eery, the jugular vein, and the windpipe,'
